Plums and Pumpkins started in 2020 when owner, Shalyn Brooks decided to make blankets for her family during the trying times of a VERY hard year. Covid brought anxiety and loneliness to all. During this time, Shalyn looked for a way to bring comfort to her family while in isolations. After looking everywhere for a fashionable, cozy blanket but was unable to find one perfect and customized for each and every person. It was at this time, that Shalyn created the first-ever adult size minky blanket, then smalls for her grandkids. This incredibly soft blankets were swooned over by those in, around and close to her family. So, Shalyn created 2 more, 10 more, 20 more per requests – giving them to those in need, going through a hard time and selling them out at a local gift store to people longing for luxurious comfort.

Shalyn believes in surrounding herself with loyal, honest, creative and dedicated individuals to accomplish her mission to give the gift of “a hug in a box” luxury to all that come to Plums and Pumpkins. This along with giving back to the community are key to Plums and Pumpkins success. Plums and Pumpkins will be donating blankets and or proceeds to charities, hospitals, and fundraisers each year. We feel very blessed to have this opportunity to help others and know it wouldn’t be possible without our amazing customers and supporters.
